The Mod List: Coral Lippies

I am obsessed with corals.

No, scratch that, actually I am obsessed with bright and bold shades on my lips. But since this post is supposed to be color-specific, I won't bombard you with my lust for red, hot pink and the likes. I'll do that on another day.

*Makeup Forever Aqua Lip Pencil in 18C*

MUFE Aqua Lip in 18c is a bright pink coral that gives an opaque coverage. Formulated with jojoba wax & vitamin E, this waterproof product comes in handy during hot, smoldering days, which we have like 75% of the year in Manila. Another thing I love about this is although it has a matte finish, it is soft and velvety and the color payoff is absolutely divine.

Staying Power: 5-8 hours

*MAC Pro Longwear in Good To Go*

MAC Good To Go is the creamier and shinier version of MAC Morange. It comes in a slimmer and longer container than the usual short lipstick bullets. Definitely not for the faint-hearted, as it a screaming bright orange. This shade would do you good on days you want to make a statement and stand out in the crowd.

Staying Power: 5-6 hours (longer with a base)

*Topshop Oh La La Lipstick*

What I love about Topshop is not only do they have the cutest and most adorable packaging for their cosmetic products, the quality is good and the price is not that bad as well. Oh La La is a soft  coral-pink (apologies, as the flash of my camera may have washed out the true shade of the product) that has a creamy consistency and applies smoothly on the lips.

Staying Power: 3-5 hours
Alternative: Revlon Smoked Peach (P550)


*Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Grandma*

OCC lip tars has the smoothness of a lip gloss but turns into a creamy satin lipstick when worn. With just a dot-sized amount, OCC lip tar in Grandma is a loudmouth neon coral that gives off opaque coverage. Texture-wise, I have never tried anything like it before and truth be told,  I still can't find a proper dupe for this.

The only thing I don't like about this product is because it comes in a tube and you really need a tiny amount per application and for clumsy people like me, that could be a huge problem. One wrong squeeze and it is a mess.

*Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss in 006*

Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss in 006 Strawberry Fraise is a coral-red shade that is packed full of tiny gold specks. Although it has a glossy finish, color payoff is subtle. The consistency is quite thick and does feel a little bit sticky on the lips.

Staying Power: 2-3 hours
