As a birthday gift to her, my sweet fiancè put together this trip. Of course, I was ecstatic! Giving my Ma an experience of HK has always been a dream for me. Just one condition on my end, no stop to Disneyland! Too much sun and happy faces make me grumpy like an angry 90-year-old man. Lols
This trip marks a couple of firsts for us - it's her first overseas vacation and I am pretty much a neophyte in leading one. I've always depended on Henry (fiancè) to map out everything - things to do, places to go as well as find the good eats in a particular city/county.
So, being with her feels like it's also my first time here. Plus the fact that between the two of us, we only have three Chinese words under our belts - cesuo (CR), pai fan (white rice) and kele (coke). I believe these are essential words that would make certain conversations in HK much much easier. Haha
To keep myself from going batshiz cray-cray and hop on every cab I see to navigate the city (imagine the costs THAT would incur), Henry gave me a copy of the MTR Map.
Set Breakfast at Holiday Inn Express - I don't like it :( |
Obligatory Self-Portrait :) |
And just like the next maarte girl, I am quite pore-obsessed, so I bought this product from Methode Swiss. It was discounted at $292 from $365.
I've read some good reviews that's why I really want to try it out. In exchange the sales girl examined my skin (verdict: dry with oily t-zone) and handed out some samples. Kewl!!
Freebies |
I was kind of bummed out to learn Mac's chromographic pencils are not available here, but quickly recovered when I discovered a really good dupe for it. This is a soft-tipped concealer pencil that could give Mac a run for its money. Love it!
Next stop was the Kwai Chung Plaza, which for me was a better choice than Mongkok's Ladies Market because unlike the latter, it actually has a roof and a/c. Priorities, people! hehe The only crazy thing is it was 12 fricking stations away from Causeway Bay.
Anyway, once inside, I realized it is pretty much the 168 Mall of HK, which is never a bad thing since I love bargain hunting.
There was a section for Korean clothing, where I bought a couple of dresses, sweaters and a skirt.
I super love the princessy dresses.
These dresses makes me wish we also have winter in the Philippines.
But what I enjoyed the most was this cute little store aptly called The Fun Box.
Today, we'll be dropping by the Citygate Outlets.
Ohemgee, all the shopping possibilities!! I wish Henry was with me.
See y'all!
